Marana Parks and Rec offering an ‘eerie’ hiking experience | Events
Right in line with the Halloween theme, the Marana Parks and Recreation is offering an ‘eerie hike’ of the Tortolita Mountains.
This three mile hike is free to all who want to participate. It is a self-guided tour of the Wild Burro Wash, in which hikers will go through a sand wash with small inclines, as well as gorgeous views of native plants and rock formations. Two of the rock formations hikers will see are aptly named coffin rock and the line shack.
Hikers will start at 4:30 p.m. and must complete their hike by 8:30 p.m. Organizers anticipate this ‘eerie’ hike to last about an hour or so.
The path hikers will use starts at the Wild Burro Trailhead on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. (14810 N. Secret Springs Dr. Marana, AZ, 85653)
