Mountain View student receives state award | News
Mountain View High School senior, Tung Le, was selected from a large group of nominees throughout Arizona to receive the 2012 Arizona ELL Success Stories award.
This award was created by the Arizona Department of Education, to honor Arizona ELL students who have made noteworthy achievements as English Language Learners. This is the fifth year the award has been given out.
Tung Le was recognized at the Arizona Department of Education/Office of English Language Acquisition Services state conference, held last month on December 13.
Tung has been in the U.S. for two years, arriving at a pre-emergent level in English. He is currently on target to graduate in May, with a recent GPA of 3.89, he is ranked 40th in a class of 460. Tung plans to attend the University of Arizona and prepare for a career in the medical field.
